  • Barha
    Gavin Barha, PT
    Physiotherapist

Gavin grew up playing ice hockey and throughout his career, he faced many injuries which led him to physiotherapy treatments. It was from those experiences that he decided to pursue a career in physiotherapy so that he could help others recover from their injuries and improve their quality of life.

  • Murray Howes
    Murrey Howes, RMT
    Registered Massage Therapist

Murray’s interest in becoming an RMT came from his athletic background where he personally experienced how massage therapy can help people to recover from injury and assist them with their training.

Murray was a teacher for 24 years and owned and operated his own gym facility. As a personal trainer, he often referred clients for manual therapy such as Chiropractic, Physiotherapy, and Massage Therapy. Massage Therapy proved to be the treatment of choice for most clients. Murray chose Massage Therapy because of his curiosity to learn more about how the body works.

  • carolyn schmidt
    Carolyn Schmidt, RMT
    Registered Massage Therapist

I believe that creating an exceptional life requires a foundation of gentle care and comfort from which work, creativity, and effort can flow.

My trauma-informed, and gentle (but firm) approach, to relieving tension and pain patterns allows for the investigation of hard-to-resolve or chronic conditions in a way that respects your body’s limits.

As someone who made a significant career pivot, I know what it’s like to put your body’s comfort on hold while you achieve your goals. This is just one of the reasons why I love helping people re-fill their cup.

My treatments blend the relaxing Swedish massage style we have all come to love with release techniques for difficult or persistent sore spots. I also enjoy helping patients stretch those tight areas they just can’t reach on their own. In my practice, I work with patients to get curious about ongoing or stubborn discomfort so we can create meaningful change through realistic home care plans. I meet patients where they are at on any given day.

Serving my community as a registered massage therapist is really a dream come true. Langley isn’t just where I work, it’s home to three generations of my family.
I am a busy mom to two awesome kids a dog, a hamster, three swishy fish, and a cat that thinks she’s a dog. I love nature and spent much of my early career filming wildlife in remote areas of Canada. I love horseback riding, yoga, and spending time on the water in my kayak.

I am always happy to welcome new patients into my practice.

  • nada
    Nada Ruiter, DOMP, BHSc, RMT
Osteopathic Manual Therapist/ Registered Massage Therapist

Nada has been an RMT since 2007 and a member of Osteopathy BC after completing a 5+ year program to become an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner. This fall Nada continued with postgraduate studies to better address concussions and deep tensions in the cranium. Identifying perpetuating blocks between a patient and the expression of their best selves is achieved with osteopathic techniques very similar to what you'd experience in her massage treatments. These sessions are done clothed in comfortable loose attire to access different structures. Osteopathy views the person holistically and can be a refreshing approach to chronic issues that have not had resolve with other modalities.

Her treatments include a thorough assessment of the structural body (spinal column, pelvis, hips, thorax etc) as well as organs and contents that may be related to the complaints or areas of previous trauma/injury. Nada is particularly interested in women’s health during pregnancy and postpartum as well as in treating children. She feels it is important to appreciate challenges and changes in the emotional and spiritual body in addition to the physical body in these life changes and treats holistically with the intention of addressing the whole person.
Nada graduated in 2007 from a 3000-hour massage therapy program in New Westminster. During her 15 years of practice, she has completed her Bachelor's in Health Science as well as many Upledger/Barral Institute courses in Craniosacral therapy and Visceral Manipulation. The exposure to these modalities inspired Nada to return in 2013 to the Canadian School of Osteopathy Vancouver campus for a five-year program studying Osteopathy. She has also been teaching massage therapy at CDI and VCC since 2013.
